An independent opinion before an important commitment.
For technology proposals, business cases, AI programmes and system recommendations that deserve more than the supplier's view.
Technically credible does not always mean commercially right.
EXCO 8 assesses the decision from the perspective of the business—not the supplier.
Business rationale
What problem is being solved? What outcome would justify the commitment?
Technology
Does the proposed approach genuinely fit the requirement?
Data
Can the current information environment support the solution?
Supplier
Which claims are demonstrable and which depend on assumption?
Commercial exposure
What are the full costs, dependencies and long-term commitments?
Implementation
What will the programme actually require from your organisation?
Risk
Where can the proposal fail—and what happens if it does?
Recommendation
Proceed, modify, investigate further—or do not proceed.
Send the proposal. We start with what is already there.
EXCO 8 first establishes the problem, background and proposed solution from the material supplied. We then research the supplier and relevant market context and, where useful, develop an indicative view of what an equivalent internal or alternative approach might cost.
Only then do we come back with any essential questions. The objective is to minimise demands on your time.
The initial output is normally a concise, evidence-based opinion by email. Follow-up options may include joining a supplier demonstration, putting technical questions directly to the supplier, helping you test specific claims, or attending a relevant leadership discussion. The work is closed with a summary of what was reviewed, what was undertaken, the conclusion reached and recommended next actions.

The EXCO 8 Decision Review can be commissioned as a standalone engagement.
£1,795 per advisory day.
Most standalone Decision Reviews begin with a minimum of one advisory day. Before work begins, EXCO 8 will establish the likely scope and advise how much review time is expected. Large document sets, unusually complex proposals or broader investigations are scoped and agreed before additional time is incurred.
